I'll take it from here

Do any of these FOUR things I learned in class last week ever happen to you?
Last week I had to work extra hard to start the mower and my shoulder was more than sore. It hurt. I woke up just in time to throw on my workout gear and get to the gym. As we started the warmup, I noticed my ankle was acting up again. I was just about to give my apologies to the instructor and leave. Maybe I could handle a short run instead. But after the warmup my ankle worked out the kinks and I kept going. I figured I could baby my shoulder by not moving too much. Before I knew it, my shoulder was fine and I was halfway through class. It felt good!
Here's what I learned.
1) Willpower can only last so long. But I only needed enough willpower to get me dressed and standing in class. After that, class started and I just went with it. It was easier to keep going that walk out.
2) A good warmup is important to a good workout. If I had used the excuse that my ankle and shoulder were sore then I might still be recovering instead of functioning.
3) I didn't feel like working out BEFORE the workout, but the music, the instructor, and the other class members carried me through and I had a GOOD TIME!
4) BIGGEST LESSON: If I had to workout at home on my own, I would quit or not even get started most of the time.
If you ever feel like it's just too hard, or you're a little sore, or aren't sure you can make it through the whole workout, just use your 10 minutes of willpower to get your workout gear on and walk into class. Let the instructor carry you through the workout after that!
Tomorrow I'm teaching STRONG by Zumba at 9am at the Orem Rec Center. Set your clothes out now. Set your alarm now. I'll be there when you drag yourself in the door.

And I'll take it from there.
